Side Note: A short-lived series called Banshee was also filmed in this town.įinished College: Slippery Rock University + Indiana University of Pennsylvania ( Communications / Marketing) I grew up in a small town, ( feel like everyone says that on Lifetime movies,) home of the infamous G&G Restaurant and Tees-n-Tops custom merch shop. I’m sorry… what? The Kentlee was back in business, ya’ll! *Was never established in the first place but you know what I mean.* I looked at the place once and said yes to the spress! *play on Say Yes to the Dress - spress = espresso* #superfunnyiknow Wait a minute though, put your tears away ( I appreciate that you feel for me but there are Katy Perry Firework moments at the end.) To make a long story longer, the realtor for the up & running business had a coffee shop / cafe on his list that wasn’t even on the market yet. Unfortunately that fell through and I was back to the reality of not owning a business. Once the world started to open back up for 5 seconds, an opportunity came up for me to possibly purchase a business that was already up and running. Put the world in a bit of a sitch so my 756 ideas stayed in the journals. Kendra’s Korner didn’t fit with the 756 directions that were in my brain ( plus reminded me of Korn’s song Freak on a Leash - used to play on MTV 24/7 - great song but didn’t want it in my head as a daily theme song.) I couldn’t just go with my last name and make it Ramaley’s because if at some point ( when I am 62 years old) and decide I want to get married, my last name won’t be Ramaley anymore… So, yeah - that was out.

I wrote down things that I liked to do, food I loved to eat, names of places I have been, hometown staples and mine + my parent’s full names. I wanted to start with the name of the place. I thought to myself, ok this is a cool place and I’m vibin’ - let’s do this ( somewhat random but makes sense given my life’s history.) There was an immediate vision in my head, but my brain always goes in 756 directions at one time so I just started jotting down ideas in a notebook. The idea of The Kentlee started while eating ( a lot of) chocolate mascarpone + drinking an americano + people watching in a Seattle coffee shop. Sorry - we love food and drinks, too, but it’s not worth getting upset over. This cafe is a place where everyone can come in and be themselves ( unless you’re mean to people, then don’t bother walking in the door.) Both customers and employees are expected to be treated with respect and rudeness is not tolerated. Items on the menu were created to give the community unique flavor pairings and health conscious options.
